What is your best organizational tip?

  • Handle it only once. As soon as you bring something into the house deal with it then, don't put it down and then have to pick it up again later to deal with. For example, when the mail comes, I sort through it right then and recycle the junk mail, pay the bills, answer the letters, call the doctors.

  • Start with if you haven't touched it or used it in a year..get rid of it. Clear bins are my lifesavers. Every bed has a bin with winter clothes in iit. A big bin in the garage has all the heavy jackets and another for heavy blankets. All packed with ceder balls . KIds toys- go through them every 6 months anything broken goes. Anything they haven't played with in 6 months goes to a closet, if they haven't asked for it in 2 months..out it goes. I also use clear bins to organize toys, blocks in one, kitchen stuff in one, dress in one, barbies, cars,and they are not allowed to have more than 2 bins at a time out. If they want a of the others has to be put up.
