What do they do if your child has a febrile seizure?

I'm just curious. Do they admit your child overnight? How high was the fever? No, my child has not had one.

  • No, they normally don't keep the child overnight. They check to make sure the child is ok and the fever is down and stable before sending them home. My cousin had one and after the first, my aunt had to watch closely for fevers because if hers spiked too fast she would have a seizure. At the first sign of a fever, she had to be given Tylenol until the fever went away. Kids usually outgrow this by the time they are 5 and not many kids have issues with this.
