Am I a Lazy Mom?

I don't bathe my children every single night. Sometimes I am just so exhausted and I put them to bed. Does that make me a lazy mom? Am I alone in this practice?

  • My son gets a bath ALMOST every night. He's crawling around now so I like to wash him up before bed since he's on the floor so much. It's not necessary to do it every single night though. For us it's just part of our bed time routine. We do skip a night here or there though. Don't feel so bad, unless he's stinky or grimy it's no big deal.

Oh and ignore that anon, she's just lonely and miserable and wants to make you feel miserable too. She's also full of you-know-what.

  • Only if they're truly filthy. Otherwise, no and no.

  • I bathe my 9-month-old son every other day. When my husband works his doubles, sometimes I just give him a sponge bath and he'll go 3 days without a real bath, but I'm just too scared to bathe him alone! =) I don't think it's lazy. It's exhausting being a mom. They don't need a bath every single night, unless they've been rolling in mud all day. =)

  • Always have 1 smart a** anon.

No it does not unless what the 1st poster says. It's not good to bathe all everyday anyway unless truly needed.

  • You're not supposed to bath them every single night anyway so don't feel so bad. Bathing every single night strips the good bacteria off their skin. It also draws out natural moisture thus drying it out. It's best to bath them at most every other night. I go two nights unless we've been to the park and they've gotten really dirty. It's okay for kids to not be "squeaky" clean all the helps with the immune system.

  • I bathe my kids everyday before bed. And my daughter alot of time before school.. if we didnt wash her hair the night before. And no it doesnt make you a lazy mom. Please, maybe if you never bathed them.( Esp babies dont need it everyday unless spit up alot on their selves. )Im sure if your kid came home from school with dirt all over , you would. No worries!!!! :)

  • We only bathe everyother night unless there is a reason. They can keep hands and faces clean.

  • My three get a bath for sure 3 times a week...Sunday night (to start the week) and two nights after their gym classes. Other than that, if they were outside playing (so covered in sunscreen) or just made a huge mess with supper.
