  • We cut back our satellite package, reduced our netflix subscription by $10 a month, cancelled my monthly magazine subscription payments ($23 a month with the magazine service), but the money saved from those things just went to groceries because we just started buying organic whenever possible.

  • Oh yeah and we shop with coupons and shop for produce at a local produce market, and we bought tomato plants, pepper plant, cucumber plant, and a mint plant and are growing our own container garden.

  • I try to save energy around the house by keeping lights off during the day, using power strips and switching them off when not in use, not using the dryer much (I use racks instead). And I use cloth diapers and wipes and make my own wipe spray
I also buy some things in bulk, and buy off-brands.
And I sell Pampered Chef products.

  • I'm a WAHM, but my son is now in daycare so I am able to work more hours now. I'm making over $1000 a month more than I was when he was here, and that's not including the daycare charge. He's there 3 days a week.

  • I earn a little from answering questions on It basically pays for the internet- so not a lot of money, but enough.

We ride bikes and walk. That saves us about $100 a month.
    We stopped eating out.
    We buy used items.
When we go grocery shopping we go with a list. And we use coupons only if it's an item we'll actually use.
