Can I get some honest opinions about these wackos that go out and blow up clinics. Does any one actually think they are doing any good? Really IMO, they just make pro-lifers look bad... So, why would they do it? They aren't stopping anyone. If I wanted an abortion and the clinic I was going to was blown up, I would find a new one... That simple. So, what are they doing besides taking yet another life?

Thoughts please.

*Note, I am NOT saying that pro-lifers are wackos... Just the extremists... If you're an extremist that blows up clinics then take offence, otherwise, I mean no harm, I'm just looking for honest opinions.

  • I've wondered about this myself... I'm thinking it's seen as collateral damage in a war, or some sort of holy retribution for their evil acts (or association with them.)

Answer by Collinsky at 11:47 PM on May. 20, 2009

  • PS I don't consider it holy retribution myself! Just want to be very clear that I was speculating about their POV because obviously they are justified in their own minds somehow.

Answer by Collinsky at 11:49 PM on May. 20, 2009

  • I personally think they probably have some mental problems. Maybe they want to blow up something and kill people, so they pick something that they can justify in some sick way.

I don't think they reflect pro-lifers. I think they reflect crazy building blower uppers.

  • I don't know why they do it. I am Pro-Life. But I also believe there are certain circumstances in which abortions are needed. I do not believe that it is right for anyone, not just pro-lifers, to blow up buildings or cause harm in any other way to people. I don't understand why some people can't just let people believe in what they believe in.

This world has become so judgmental it is very sad. Why must we judge? Everybody judges something or someone at some point in their lives. But judging someone because of their beliefs is ridiculous. So what if someone believes in a different god or doesn't believe at all. So what if someone believes in abortion or life. So what if a woman is giving birth at the age of 66 or 14. The only person we should be judging is ourselves and our decisions. We are so caught up in other peoples lives and decisions we have forgotten what is most important. Us and our lives.

  • This is why I call myself antiabortion rather than "pro-life" the extreemest of that movement have corrupted it's meaning and are nothing more than the murderers they proclaim abortionists to be.

  • I don't think they can call themselves "pro-life" if they're killing people.....

  • The same reason environmentalists commit terrorist acts and form groups like ALF and ELF - every group has extremists

  • Prolifers blowing up people....isn't that an oxymoron?

Answer by pnwmom at 12:58 AM on May. 21, 2009

  • I'm pro-life, and I don't understand these extremist groups either. I can't understand how blowing up a building is going to get your message across.

Ever heard the saying "You can catch more flys with honey than vinegar"??

    & yes pnwmom it's a total oxymoron.
