I know this may sound really stupid and ignorant...

But I've never heard of some of these abbreviations people use on here. I get the whole SAHM and WAHM(stay and work at home mom),but what about DH, DS, DF, etc?? What do these(and any others) stand for? Sometimes I don't fully understand what I'm reading because I don't know what they mean. I am college educated and feel REALLY dumb asking this, but please let me in on it! LOL

  • it has nothing to do with if you are college educated or not... its short abbreviations or acronyms ...

    Here are some common abbreviations on CafeMom. This list is from the CafeMom Newcomers Club.

    AC = Adopted Child
    AF = Aunt Flo
    AP= Attachment Parenting
    ATM = At the Moment
    AYT = Are You There
    BBL = Be Back Later
    BF = Boy Friend (also sometimes best friend, breast-feeding or breakfast, depending on context!!)
    BFN = Big Fat Negative
    BFP = Big Fat Positive
    BIL = Brother-In-Law
    BL = Belly Laugh
    BRB = Be Right Back
    BTW = By The Way
    CIO = Crying It Out
    CM = CafeMom
    CYL = Catch Ya' Later
    DD = Dearest Daughter, Darling Daughter, etc
    DF = Dear/Darling Fiance'
    DH = Dear Hubby (Or Husband), Darling Hubby, Darn Hubby, Dumb Hubby, etc
    DIKU = Do I Know You
    DS = Dearest Son, Darling Son, etc (can also mean Direct Sales)
    DSA = Direct Selling Associat
