When are you supposed to take the bumper out of the crib?

  • As soon as they start pulling up

  • Whenever you want. If the child is pulling them off or tearing it apart then take it off. Usually by a year as they are standing and used to the crib and know the boundaries or the crib.

  • I took the bumpers out before my kids were a year old, they kept smashing them down, so what was the point of having them

  • Whenever you want. I never took them out until we moved them to a regular bed.

  • I took mine out when I moved the mattress down, but then she wasn't sleeping well so I put it back up. I think she likes it because it makes the crib more cozy. She's 8 months and doesn't mess with it really, so until it looks like it's a hazard I'll let her keep it.
