Is it okay to give my daughter (10.5m) queso fresco?

It's a soft cheese.

  • You CAN give your child dairy before the age of one! My daughter has been eating yogurt, cheese and cheese snacks since she was 8 months old (now 10 months old).

  • Dairy is an allergy trigger food, so ,o dairy before she turns one, and no queso fresco until she is at least 2

Well, I'm confused then, because this suggested feeding chart has dairy on it.

  • I gave it to all three of my kids as babies and I have had no problems. But thats my experience.

  • Just regular yogurt or do they make baby yogurt? I hate yogurt, so I know nothing about it.

  • My doc said babies CAN have dairy, just not milk. My daughter has all types of dairy and loves it.

  • Baby yogurt has a lot of sugar (like regular yogurt). I give it to my daughter only a couple of times per week. Of course you could always buy plain yogurt and mix in some fruit puree. Whole milk yogurt is best.

  • They do make yogurt for babies. My son loves it! However, I would not recommend soft cheeses because they can contain listeria, which is a bacteria that can be very harmful to babies. Harder cheeses like cheddar are probably okay.
