Naming your child after the father yes or no? Anthony...

We are not married but the only name we can agree on is Anthony, my boyfriend, the fathers. name. I want to but Im not sure if we will be together forever and I just couldnt stand saying his name all day every day. I also really think it would be wierd if your "in bed" with your man and you said his name, also your sons. What do you think?

  • I really don't like naming children the same name as a parent, HOWEVER, if we had had a boy, he would have had his father's first name and a different middle name (and would go by the middle name). It's a family tradition and it would have caused all kinds of unnecessary drama if I refused. But, we had 3 girls, no boys, so I got lucky =D

  • I think that even if you break up tomorow he will ALWAYS be your sons father....
as for the screaming your boyfriends name in bed and thinking your son- Shame on you-thats wrong just to have even popped into your head LOL
anyway, when you have a JR, mothers and fathers tend to call them by a nickname for less confusion.

  • i think it's a good idea, just make sure he has a nickname. our family has 5 generations of men named Paul. most go by thier middle name, so we have Paul, PJ, Fred, Ryan and Jayson.

  • Do what I did, I put his dads name as the middle name. Thank goodness. We divorced and I would hate to be calling his name all day long lol. I gave my ex kudos by putting his name as the middle name.
