  • Why do you feel that you have to lose so much weight in such a short time? You need to pace yourself. Setting unrealistic goals is just setting yourself up for failure. Also, be careful with the water. If you don't have the right balance too much water can make you sick. It can cause water intoxication and cause your kidneys to fail. Have you talked to a dietitian?

  • Really unsafe. Go for losing what you CAN.

  • A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds or so per week. If you have exactly four months to lose this weight then you could safely lose around 32 pounds (maybe a little more with water weight) safely. If you lose much more than that you can cause some seriously health issues. If you are walking that many miles per week, plus other physical exercise everyday you may not be consuming enough calories per day to support your body with that type of activity level. If that is the case, you may very well be slowing down your weight loss by doing this. I would suggest talking to your doctor or a dietician to see what the appropriate caloric intake needs to be for that level of fitness and your specific body type.

  • When you go on a diet, or use a diet aid, you are just putting yourself on the gain/loss rollercoaster; frustrating for you, & hard on your body. You will never learn portion controlor healthy eating habits. In order to maintain a healthy weight, you need to have a healthy lifestyle; this has the added bonus of setting a great example for your kids.
First, start walking; at least 20 min a day at least 3 times a week. Next, drink your water! at least 8 8oz glasses a day. Next, eat your fruits & veggies! 7-8 servings a day, in at least three different colors. Eat your whole grains (loaded with fiber, protein, and lots of energy-giving nutrients), 7 servings a day. Cut way back on (or eliminate) meat & dairy. Add beans, lentils & tofu to your diet. You can get free meal plans and recipes from Dr. McDougall, or find his books at your local library: http://www.drmcdougall.com/free.html .Feel free to ask me any questions. -Robin

  • Not in a safe manner. You should be losing about 2 lbs a week unless under doctor care. A great plan to follow is Weight Watchers, it is not a diet it is a lifestyle change. You can eat anything and still lose weight, it is all about moderation.

  • You're trying to kill yourself? You're anorexic? Your dies is WAY too extremte Anything more than 2 pounds a week is not sensible--and you'll just gain it all back cuz you're not losing weight, you're losing muscle. Not good.
