A LOT of spit up.

My DD is almost 3 weeks old. I'm breastfeeding and she eats really well. For the last 3 days, she's been spitting up a lot. I'm guessing it has to be almost as much as she's eating. And sometimes it's projectile. Also, she cries so hard right before she spits up. (this kid barely ever cries)
No fever or any other symptoms of being "sick". I made an appointment, but its not until Tuesday.
I'm not panicking, just a bit concerned. What do ya'll think?

  • I would just moniter the situation, If she is otherwise o.k. I'd wait until Tuesday. But, as a mother you will know when something just is'nt right. If you are really freaking out call an advice nurse at your doctor's or local hospital or leave a message for a doc at your office. My son was a bad puker, he couldn't handle breast or formula. And I swore as a baby he had acid refulx and he does. He's 12 now and has reflux and lactos intolerant. I hope your baby get's to feeling better. I wish you well.

  • my sisters baby did all that and when I went to her house to check on the baby, I realized her belly was swollen near her belly button, I told my sister that her baby probably has a hernia. When she came back from the doctor, she told me the doctor agreed, she did have a hernia. they did surgery the next week. I am not saying that is what is wrong with your baby, but it is something worth talking to your doctor about.

  • I would call her pediatrician if the mylicon drops are not working. Let them know what is going on. If her belly feels normal it is probably just reflux.
