My 6 month old doesnt want to eat baby food!

She only wants to nurse. She doesnt like the baby food, she just keeps making faces and pushing it out of her mouth. Should I keep trying, or should I just let her nurse till shes ready for the food, whenever that may be?

  • let her keep nursing and try again in a week...if she doesn't want it then give it another week. Keep trying new foods too.

  • Ive been trying for 2 months now. Trying to give her different foods each week, but she doesnt really want to eat them. If I give her a piece of real banana she will eat that though!

  • Babies only really need breastmilk until they are over a year anyway. I say don't even try until she seems interested in your food.

try putting some mushed up banana's in her cereal.. helped with my DD. and keep trying.. you still have plenty of time before worrying about this too much...

    here are some other tips:

make your own baby foods.. just get out the blender, and use well cooked veggies that are easy to blend, and fruits. You can mix in a little banana with it as well.. so she still gets something she likes, but you know she's trying more..

when she can start mashing her food.. try the gerber puffs.. they have banana flavored ones.
