I had a c section 6 weeks ago monday and...

about a week ago I noticed a lump , about the size of a gold ball on my incision(right side). My incision is healed and fine, no redness, no tenderness in the lump, but now I am noticing cramping and pain in that area.I am also having a hard time urinating, tho no burning....I thought my period was going to start but why would the pain be on one side, and what is this lump? I am going for my post partum 6 wk appt next week, but wondered if anyone had this issue as well after a scetion? Is the lump scar tissue maybe?I am getting a little scared.

  • The lump is probably scar tissue (My son's 20 mos and I have several still along the incision, though they've gotten smaller in the year since.) If it's not scar tissue, it could be a ruptured internal suture. Calling your doctor's office to consult would be a good idea. GL!

  • I also had a Csection 5 weeks ago today and I have several lumps. They do not hurt if touched. After my 2nd child I did not get my first cycle until about 7 weeks or so. It did not start before my 6 week postpartum checkup.
If you are really concerned call your OB, but I would not worry too much about it. ( I have experienced this with all 3 CSections so far.)
