when does a babies softspot on their head close???

just wanted to know because my baby is 5 months old and his soft spot has gotten very little

  • 12 to 14 months is avarage but as early as 9 months is normal. But that is the front one, the back one closes as early as 2-4months.

  • I thought my son's soft spot was too small too. At about 5 months it was just about the size of my thumbprint. But his doctor said it was perfect. He's 9 months now and I can't feel a soft spot at all but he still says its okay. He even tried to show me exactly how to tell but I can't lol.

  • Not until 18 months, average anyway. Google it or even ask your pedi.

  • anon 8:24 got it right. On average the soft spot will heal COMPLETELY at 18 months. My son's not average and his didn't heal until he was after 2.
