  • Actually, it isn't a bad idea. Especially if the price of foods that are actually good for you could go down. For example - I saw chips on sale at the grocery store for $1.88 today. And a watermelon for $3.99. If making the chips more expensive could help to lower the price of produce, that'd be a pretty good plan!

  • I think there should be but I really don't think it would help to much. It's just like cigarettes. The price keeps going up and up but people still keep buying them. If it's something somebody really wants they are going to find a way to afford it.

  • Junk food tax-
    potato chips
    fried foods
    processed foods
    fast food that is fried

Why tax junk food- because the individuals that consumer it have higher rates of disease that can drain resources.

  • One's junk food is another's food. Carrots and ranch dressing could be junk food to some as much as a graham cracker with cool whip...So really who is the food police to say what is taxed and what should not be taxed.

It really is not anyone's business about what you eat.

  • It is others business when those that eat this in excess are using large amounts of resources in the community. Thus, the junk food tax would help to pay for this.

  • You are being a control freak! ... people pay for the food they eat or they grow it, are you worried that you cant buy your food, because the food monster is going to eat it all up so people have to double pay to make you happy?
