Ca moms, a question for you?

So I'm sure you all have at least one or two of those digital display billboards near where you live, right? They are very useful for the Amber Alerts and important emergency road information. However, when they are not displaying that information they are displaying things like "click it or ticket" or "report drunk drivers" etc. Totally non essential messages, right? Isn't this wasting the money that our state doesn't have? Or am I way off base here?

  • are they solar powered? If yes, then I don't see the problem. If not, well, maybe they should conserve energy costs - and save those messages for busy times, like a Memorial Day Holiday weekend when people will be traveling more.

  • I don't know how they are powered. I think they are solar. But I don't like when they say dumb stuff on them that isn't imperative for me to look at while driving. It makes traffic suck because people look up instead of at the road.

  • I haven't encountered traffic problems from the stock messages, but rather from the Amber alerts and traffic info.
