  • My son went about 3 days between when he was that little...if your lil one doesn't poop today I'd give them a tiny bit of apple juice watered down 1 oz juice to 2 oz water.

  • Call the ped. Babies should be pooping several times a day. Just to be safe call the doc.

  • i work at a hospital...and they are supposed to poop several times a day......and if breastfeeding...pretty much after every meal. Maybe hes constipated....I would call just to be safe. Does he act like hes hurting?

  • Don't give her a suppository yet! Sometimes babies go every couple days.

  • THat's not true Angie. I work at a hospital too and not all babies poop a couple times a day. If they're breastfed they can poop every couple. If they're FF the same. My son was constipated that young and he didn't poop for 3 days, cried, and wouldn't eat. They gave him a suppository

  • My 3month old did not poop every day but she wouldn't go more than 72 hours. She is FF - my 12 yr old was Breastfed and didn't go after every meal, either. I WOULD call your pedi, though - don't wait till Tuesday. They know newborns are out there and normally have after hours instructions or someone on call to assist.

Good luck and congrats on your little one!

  • Call the after hours number for her doctor and see what they have to say, it may just be that the formula she is on constipates her or something, but let me just ask she has gone poop at least once to pass her moconium stool right? And another thing do NOT give her juice she is far too young for that and its not good to give babies juice or water that young

  • CALL Seriously, My daughter never seemed phased by anything horriblle ear infections etc. It may be the formula or it may just be a bit of constipation. In the mean time you could try some prune juice. BUT Call. and just a very very little bit too diluted in her bottle. If its constipation this should help But to be honest I would just call your ped and see what they say.
