  • The first person I always go to is my Mom. Even after going to the doctors with my daughter I would still do what my mom says even if it's different then what the Dr advised :) Mom knows best!!

  • Older moms, or moms of multiple children. My granny is 83 and had 5 kids. She usually knows whats best.

  • My mom and some older moms who have "been there done that". I don't generally listen to advice given by "experts".

  • My pediatrician

Moms who are moderate in their parenting views...moms who think AP (or CIO, or Babywise, or breastfeeding, etc) is the ONLY way to parent are the ones I generally ignore.

I like the What to Expect books...I've learned a lot from them.

  • For me, I like to get advice from multiple sources and then go with what I feel is right (instincts).

I don't feel like older moms (grandmas, etc) always know what is best because things have changed a lot since they had young kids. I like to talk to moms who have kids around the same ages as mine, or a little bit older. I also really like to read a variety of parenting books, as I have found they often have really great advice, as well as doing reasearch online.  I typically don't ask the Dr. for parenting advice, only medical advice.

  • That is suppossed to say that "older moms (grandmas, etc) DON'T always know what is best because things have changed a lot since they had young kids.:

  • I prefer the "been there" crowd, but I tend to gather lots of info and go from there.
I disagree Sarahmae I think the "older moms" get discounted but often have some great advice, most things actually haven't changed, society has and I've noticed change usually spirals so I take older moms advice into consideration too.

I will also go to the "experts" if the particular issue is something very specific
