http://www.constitutionals.com/2009/petitions-that-affect-you/are-pro-lifers-domestic-terrorists/

not al qaeda, not the taliban... but people who do not believe in abortion. (how backwards is that?)

also if you're a christian, you're basically considered a domestic terrorist as well...

how do you feel about this? and why do you think the media isn't doing much to cover it?

i bet if this were the other way around, more & more people would find this appalling.

  • First, I am a Christian, and I am pro-choice. I do NOT believe the Bible ever mentions abortion.

Second, there are MANY pro-lifers that blow up abortion clinics or threaten to kill abortion doctors. Are these people domestic terrorists? Of course they are.

  • The percentage of Christians and pro-lifers who hurt anyone is extremely low. I think that focusing on Christian Pro-Lifers while apologizing to terrorists is foolish and dangerous.

  • The ones who are willing to blow up abortion clinics, kill doctors who perform abortions, and willing to do whatever they can to stop abortions including threatening those who have or are thinking about having one, are domestic terrorists. Those willing to cause harm in defense of their beliefs are terrorists, no different than Al Queda or the Taliban.

  • Who exactly said that? I've googled it and cannot find anything from an official source, just many pro-life sources saying that this is true....

    Doing more digging.

This is interesting. It basically says that reports (NOT a memo) like this one come out all the time.

  • I've looked and looked and found several articles. Apparently it WAS a memo.

Indeed, earlier memos surfaced that targeted left-wing extremists with the same uncomfortably vague descriptions. For example, one memo warned that anarchist extremists “embrace a number of radical philosophical components of anticapitalist, antiglobalization, communist, socialist, and other movements.”

They also name MANY groups, like Mexican Separatists, Black Nationalists, Nordic Mystics, and Skinheads, along with pro-lifers as potential extremists that could be potential domestic terrorists.

Keep in mind anything islamic is specifically excluded from this document, they are listed elsewhere.

I'm sorry but this is exactly what the the DHS is supposed to do.

  • Gladly, Anon.

The Bible simply never mentions abortion at all. Even though it was around and did occur during biblical times.

Most Christians use a few scriptures to claim that abortion is a sin. Or, like I used to, they just assume it does and go with what their church and peers say.

In many places in the Bible, it equates "living" with "breathing.

Here is a good article that explains what I believe: http://www.twopaths.com/faq_abortion.htm

Also check out the RCRC (http://www.rcrc.org), the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. There are several of us out there, including several members of the clergy.

  • I also wanted to point out that no one can condemn anyone to hell except for God and that, according to the Bible, we are ALL sinners. No one can escape that. In this situation, we are all deserving of hell. That's why Jesus came. To show the world what love and tolerance truly mean and to die on the cross so we all can be forgiven of our sins.

  • The bible doesn't mention abortion but it does mention punishment for causing a woman to loose a child... i believe that it says something like this... if two men are fighting and they hurt a pregnant woman and she looses her child... and then it states the punishment for that... which i think was death in those days. I am pro life but i am in no way a terrorist... yes i have my opinions and beliefs but everyone was given free will for a reason, and it really is up to god to do the judging... yeah there are prolifers who will go to extremes, blowing up buildings etc, but there are extremists in every group... i think that ANY extremist is a terrorist, any person who would go to those lengths to get their point across is a terrorist.
