Whats wrong with Wal Mart?

Call me ignorant but what exactly is it they do wrong? I watched a video about it but apparently it didn't explain much cuz I still don't get it. All I really got was that they don't put Wal Marts in the ghetto...

Can someone who is KNOWLEDGEABLE about the issue please explain?

  • What a BS biased site. Most web sites you come across is from ex angry wal mart workers.

  • They employ part-time employees so they don't have to pay benefits or offer vacation time.

They encourage employees to sign up for Medicaid rather than their insurance, so Walmart doesn't have to pay a portion of the premiums.

The local store employs people who are half a level above Carnival worker intelligence. I haven't shopped there in almost a year and won't go there ever again.

  • From what I can gather I think the people who are against Wal-Mart are so because of employee wages and the fact that it can take away from small businesses. I think. But I don't understand because maybe they don't offer insurance or anything, but they employ more people than other companies so they are still helping families, right?  I'm sure someone else knows more about it than me.

And YET, no one FORCES anyone to work there! If you don't like the employment terms, then don't apply! If you are more qualified, then you shouldn't have nay difficulty finding suitable employment.

I REFUSE to shop at Walmart, because everything is made CHEAPLY. The same brand names you buy at a better electronics store are made cheaper (by cutting corners and substituting inferior parts) for Walmart--that's how they can cut their prices, and still make a profit.

AND I hate the thought of supporting China!

  • they treat their employees like crap, out of common respect they should close at a decent hour like every other store, instead they are so greedy they are open 24 hours so they can rake in every little penny .
