why doesn't my 6 mos old like solids anymore?

  • It could be lots of things -- teething, maybe the novelty's worn off, or maybe you have recently introduced some finger foods? My daughter only liked the purees (Gerber or homemade) for a few weeks, then she wanted nothing but finger foods. It was hard because she was just 7 months and there were very few finger foods we felt safe giving her. But we kept offering (but not pushing) the purees, and we slowly introduced some finger foods, starting with the gerber puffs and very soft fruit cut into very small pieces. It could just be a phase, though, in any case. At 6 months solid food isn't nutritionally important, so no need to force feed...
