What are the best toys for learning to pull up?

My soon to be 8 month old loves holding onto your hands while pulling herself up. She tries with the couch and chairs but can't get a good hold onto the fabric. She has the strength to pull up, if only she had something to grab onto. Any suggestions??

  • You could try a push-behind walker. Something with a handle that your baby can reach up for and then pull herself up. Then once she's standing if she's ready she can start to learn to walk. We have one that also turns into a ride-on once baby is big enough. It's the Fisher Price Stride to Ride Walker. If you want something that's stationary both my girls learned to pull up on the Leapfrog Learn-Around Playground. The baby can play with it while sitting but there's a lot to get their attention above too. So it encourages them to pull themselves up. Here's a link to see what it looks like: Or you could go with the Leapfrog Learn & Groove Musical Table:

  • I second the Learn & Groove music table. My son loves it. He also loves remotes and cell phones so whenever they were laying on the couch he would crawl right over and pull himself up to grab it lol. That worked too!
