Do you think its ok?

I was always allowed to have cookies and milk for breakfest but my husband things that cookies are a desert. Would you let your kids have cookies and milk in the morning or no?

  • Um, It's a tough call. My kids sometimes have cereal or doughnuts for breakfast...which is just as bad as cookies. But, I try to keep cookies for snacks or dessert. Maybe depending on what kind of vanilla wafers or shortbread cookies wouldn't be as bad as, say, Oreos. lol...

Who knows haven't had the kid yet. Even if you came to an agreement now, you would probably change your mind later on. I know I've changed my views quite a lot since becoming a mother :)

  • hmm my kids had vanilla wafers and milk for breakfast sunday. its your call, i think every here and there would be fine, like as a treat. we always got to have cake for breakfast when it was one of our birthdays growing up. so i think it would be fine and i would in moderation.

  • No,,I wouldn't ..Cookies are a treat/desert to me too..I am with your DH on this. That like having a donut for breakfast..I don't do that either,,donuts are a desert/treat to me. Milk yes, cookies no.

  • Does your DH eat doughnuts or sugary ceral? There really isn't a difference between those things and cookies. So if he eats those things he really has nothing to say.

  • I think cookies are a dessert. I can't imagine having chocolate chip cookies then going to work. I think you have to train your kids what healthy choices are and give them good fuel to start the day.

  • Eh, You could feed em worse. We all know we should give our kids a breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit, ect....but in realtiy we're lucky to get a cookie down them. Maybe try giveing them fruit bars or granola bars for a quick breakfast.

  • on occasion i will let him have vanilla waffers or doughnust for breakfast....

same with waffles and pancakes, cinnamon rolls....

hes not much of eating when he gets up so usually for us breakfast is a granola bar.. or dry cereal... then about 2 hours later we eat real breakfast.....

  • For fun on occasion, that sounds great, but I don't think it would be helpful if you did it everyday. My kids just eat cereal. Its what they want.

  • I wouldnt do it as an every day thing im just wondering how many people would let their kids because my DH is agianst it and wont let up on it lol. We are about to have our first in July so we still have a while before it gets to that but we still debate our ideas so we dont fight about them later lol. =)
