Is it normal to have a period right after you stop breastfeeding even if you just had one less than a week ago?

  • After nursing 4 children I have found everything is normal! LOL.  My 3rd child I did not have a period for 6 months (all midnight feedings had stopped) but my 4th child I got my first period just 2 months later and my cycles are 38-42 days with some "spotting" during the month. My spotting can be brought on by his changes in nursing.  Remember nursing and uterine contractions use the same hormones so one will effect the other.  Hope this helps.
