congestion/ cough in a 10 month old

so my son just turned 10 months old, and has had a cough for going on now about 2 weeks. it is just a little cough, meaning he coughs only about 5 coughs a day, which you can also hear that they it is a wet cough. he has had no other symptoms, and is as full of energy as ever before. only when he coughs can you tell he is congested.

so i guess is there anything i should/ can do, short of making an appointment, to get rid of his cough?

  • Lay your child over your knees and gently pat from his butt to his neck. Sometimes that will help loosen it. Allergy medicine might be the cure, or a decongestant. Have you tried going into the bathroom and turning the water on and letting him inhale the steam? Don't go in the shower, just outside!!!! Or do you have a humidifier for him? Good luck!!!

  • Vaporizer at night. He could have allergies or asthma. Sitting in the bathroom while the shower is run really hot should help too.
