Need advice on pests!!

We are having problems with tiny little ants...They are turning up everywhere, even in the bathroom. Does anyone know of a nontoxic way to get rid of them? I'm hoping to get the exterminator out here, but it will be a couple of weeks at least before he can spray the house. Any advice out there? Would love to hear it

  • This recipe is very good for ants: Three cups water, one cup sugar, 4 tsp boric acid powder (this can be purchased in pharmacies near vitamans, etc). Mix ingredients in a saucepot and bring almost to a boil. Cool and pour into jar lids, dixie cups, etc and set around the garden (or kitchen). I pour some into bottles and lay them on their sides so dogs and rain can't get in. Ants take bait and bring to nest, end of story.

Also, you need to eliminate the scent trail that the ants leave behind for other ants to follow, so wash with hot, soapy water anywhere & everywhere you have seen the ants. Do this everytime you see an ant until you don't see them anymore, b/c every ant you see is leaving a scent trail to the food source, so you have to keep after the trail until they give up or you've wiped out the colony.
