Has anyone had a child that does not sweat?

My son is 5 yrs old he gets over heated fast. I have noticed he does not sweat. Has anyone heard of this?

  • Nope. Your son needs to see a doctor, it is not safe for someone to not sweat.

  • Dehydration comes to mind, but there are other reasons a child might not sweat, so definately get him to a doc ASAP, as not sweating can be life-threatening.

  • Actually I have heard of it.Its a rare disease that causes them not to sweat and can be life threatining.He could have a heat stroke from not sweating.Please get him to a doc ASAP and gl momma.

  • My special needs brother does not sweat at all. NEver has. He has a condition called Diabetes Insipidus. He also has excessive thirst and could and will drink a gallon a water within minutes. Good luck at your appt. Hope they find answers for you.
