what do you take to fight off sickness - cold/flu/virus?

i have a toddler and i hate it when he gets sick! what can i take to fight off a cold/flu/virus if i ever feel like i'm coming down with something? i know there are products like zycam (?) and cold ease but what else could i take/do? i usually make myself some tea w/ honey...

  • If you're not pregnant, I would take zycam, ruby red grapefruit juice, echinecea tea, tylenol, and rest as much as you can.

  • Ter a flu prevention with Honey to sweeten it. or I her Emerg-C a powder drink mix has tons of vit C

  • I second the Emergen-C powder drink comment. Drink OJ also. Take probiotics. Always take a multivitamin.

  • Eat a healthy diet: at least 8 8oz glasses of water a day; 7-8 servings of fruits and veggies a day in at least 3 different colors, 6-7 servings of whole grains a day. Animal products can weaken your immune systems; beans, lentils, tofu and dark green veggies are great for iron and calcuim.
    Emergen-C is our best way to beat back a virus. In the winter, we take echinacea (3 weeks on, one week off.)
