Are we guilty?

I have seen so many post bashing families that choose to have reality television shows, calling them exploitative and fake and all. But aren't we the audience just as guilty because we watch and influence the networks decisions making them "think " these are the type shows we want to watch??
Just curious. But aren't we the audience on some level just as guilty? Just look at how many post and groups are devoted to these reality shows that is why I think we influence the market for these shows, Either out of curiosity or wanting our lives to seem easier and more normal ect.

  • I think in to a VERY small degree we are guilty as well. But, our guilt is after the fact. Those families decided to do the shows long before we even knew who they were.

  • Didn't we make the market though?

  • If nobody watched, there would be no sponsors, and no show and no spin-offs.
