how sick would your child have to be....

To stay home from school....my 6 year old hardly ever gets sick or complains of sickness. He woke up this morning with tummy aches, headache and a mild fever. He got 2 immunization shots yesterday...he will hardly eat so I made him some chamomile tea and he said it's making him feel better. His school requires us to take public transportation..long commute. Should we just stay home today? Or since he's feeling better bring him in?

  • Since he just got shots I'd let him stay home today... he'll probably keep running fever at least today.. so keep an eye on it and have your Tylenol handy... a good cold rag helps with the heat and swelling after those too. :)

  • yeah keep him home. if he is sick from the shots there is a good chance he is contagious from the shots as well!

  • He is running a fever, keep him home. I keep my son home with a fever, vomitting or a migraine (he suffers from horrible headaches). I also keep him home if he is coughing so much that it is distracting to others. You have to think about how illness affects others not just your child.
