How often are you suppose to press your hair?

I just learned how to press my hair using a hot comb and I find myself doing it at least twice a week maybe more just to keep the body in. Is that healthy for my hair? I usually press my hair after I wash it. But, I wanted to know how often should I press my hair? or does it matter at all? How often do you press your hair? How often do you press your hair and any advice for a beginner?

  • Too much heat can damage your hair. Overtime it can be extremely damaging. Use with caution. Make sure you're using a heat protector EVERYTIME you apply heat. To stretch the time in between pressing, try using smaller portions at a time, wrap your hair and tie it up in a silk bonnet. Have you ever considered a Dominican Blow Out? It's wonderful and you'd have a perm look.

  • Many have tired and failed. You can only get a Dominican Blow Out from a Dominican salon. The Blow Out should last up to a month. Do a search on YouTube. See examples:

  • I do it every time I wash my hair, which being a busy mom with three little kids, is about every other day. I blow dry it and then use a flat iron on it. I have long hair, and it get's really frizzy if I don't straighten it. I am sure it is not healthy for my hair, but I have to do it to look descent!
