how do i get my 2 yr old off the binky?

my 2yr old son takes the binky still to go to bed and nap. The thing his he expect it when he lays down what do i do?

  • Get rid of it. ...just throw it away. He'll cry about it for a little while. But he'll get over it.

  • I agree, just get rid of it. You can try the binky fairy game - one night tell him that the binky fairy is coming and put ALL the binky's in a bag in a tree outside. In the morning he wakes up and the binkys are gone but the fairy left him something better - a toy/treat/etc or a stuffed animal that he can take to bed instead. It will only take a few nights and he will forget about it, just don't give in and buy more!

  • Start gradually. Take it away at nap time first and bedtime last. It's mean to do things cold turkey.
