What is a good way to teach baby how to eat cereal at 4 months?

  • You don't teach them to eat, either they are ready or they aren't. My son at four months had no tongue thrust reflex. He would open his mouth and take the ceral off the spoon and swallow and be ready for his next bite. Some kids won't do that until they are way older.

  • I don't think you can really teach them--if they're ready, they'll open their mouth for your finger or the spoon. My son wasn't ready til he was almost ten months old, and even then, I had to use my finger instead of a spoon the first couple of times.
