What's a good excercise?

I need to tone up my stomach and get rid of my love handles. Any pointers?

  • While these are excellent work outs for toning and losing inches, remember a few things that will help boost these ideas: 1) eliminate sugar from the diet. That includes soda's, desserts, etc. When the pancreas stores what it doesn't need, it goes straight to the mid section around the pancreas. 2) Eat lots of fiber. Most women don't realize how much bulk can add inches to the middle and the tummy. 3) drink water, more water and then some more. Water helps keep water weight down, esp. around period time. It also keeps the colon moving well so that you don't have those bulk inches in the tummy.

These 3 ideas PLUS good toning core exercises will help you see a diff. in about 3 weeks. Research what Prevention online has for core exercises and routines. They have tons including videos that you can view online to make sure you are doing the exercise correctly. :)

  • Treadmill or walking or cycling for general fitness, also swimming. To tone up the middle area, besides taking off weight, then curls, also lying on your back, bring your feet up close to your back end, feet on the floor, and roll your hips up, starting with the top of your spine and rolling up toward your knees. Also on the floor, get into all fours position and lift and hold your stomach. Pilates also has a lot of ways to work that middle area.

  • This might sound like it wont do anything but it will. Its the same as the push up position but on your forarms not your hands and all you do is try to stay there for 5 min. Its hard if you dont have the musscle tone there. Also lay on your back and do leg lifts it works better when you go to the sides as well as the middle. This way it works all of the mussles. Sit ups and crunches are always good also. And run/walk for an hour. More often depending on how much you want to loose or tone.If i think of anything else ill come back and let you know. =) good luck and have fun with your workout! Dont make it work....Turn up the music and try to do the exersizes with the beat to make it more fun and a challange at the same time. And be sure to strech so your not hurtin to bad later on.
