  • yep, I was 1cm at 37wks and my baby didn't REALLY drop until 39wks--at which I was 2cm.

    so yes!

  • my previous OB and current Midwife told me that in order to dialate the baby needs to put pressure on the cervix, so in order to do that, the baby would have to drop.

  • YES! I was 9cm before my son dropped! he was posterior and huge and he couldn't get his head in until he turned it just right and then he was born shortly after!

  • yep, and in fact you do for several weeks before your baby comes. It's the effacement that let's you know when you are ready.
