What causes this?

What can cause a 3 year old to run a low temp. He has a temp of 96.8 as of 20 minutes ago. He is sleeping right now but earlier he spent almost 3 hours just whining about things not going his way and grumpy. I can tell he doesn't feel good. I have checked his temp 5 or 6 times and with two different thermometers. I checked my temp and my daughters temp. and they are normal.

What can cause him to run such a low temp????

  • The times when my kids have had lower fevers is when they had a non-threatening virus or just a simple cold. They don't always spike to a high fever. They get grumpy and whiny and just plain icky some of the times. I just make sure they have lots of rest and fluids.

  • I don't see a problem. 96-98 is normal. He's probably just overly tired thats why he was grumpy
