Is the area you live famous for anything? Good or bad?

Where I live in East Texas is the area, that tragically, the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up and exploded over upon re-entry a few years back. In fact, we felt, and heard the explosion,we thought a plane had broken the sound barrier. It was so sad. Many people I know found parts of the shuttle, and sadly, body parts of the astronauts. It was a truly sad time for this whole area for months,as NASA searched, and did their investigations. However, the whole area pulled together to do what we could to help. We also got hit last year by Hurricane Ike,really hard. And, we are still recovering from it.

  • i used to live in south alabama right on the coast. i remember when katrina hit. it was so scary. we chose not to leave and ended up staying in our trailer. we felt the trailer bending and thought it was going to fall apart. the beach was right across the highway from us and it was really sad to walk along the beach after it was over and everyones houses were destroyed. we were w/o power for a month. my dog started having puppies when the hurricane hit. she had her first puppy (a girl we named katrina) as the first rain band came on land.

  • Delaware is sales tax free. My town is known as the family friendly vacation spot. And a 15 minute drive south is where college kids go to party at the beach. 15 minutes north is one of the biggest gay communities.
