Has anyone ever heard of a baby teething at 2 months?

My two month old is showing all the signs of teething, he even has the sharp "bump" on his gums. Is this strange?

  • I have heard of a 2 month old getting teeth. Every baby is different! Mine got teeth in at 4 months and started teething at 3 months. It can take days to months for a tooth to come in. Depends on the baby :) GL!

  • My daughter started teething around 10 weeks. Didn't get her first tooth for another 5 weeks. My husband's cousin was actually born with one tooth.

  • My brother had his first two teeth at 6weeks and he was born 6weeks premature. If he was born on time he could have had teeth at birth. Eeep!
I didn't have any teeth until over a year. I just goes to show each baby is different.

  • I've heard of babies born with teeth. Not common, but not strange, either.

  • That said, a lot of babies start producing a lot of saliva around that age and it's often misinterpreted as a sign of teething. Only time will tell!

  • My son has been teething since about 6 weeks old. He had the sharp bump, low grade fever, TONS of drool and very white, hard gums. Unfortunately he is still teething at 14 weeks and no tooth has made it's appearance!
