How much were you dialated at 36 weeks?

I know the amount your dialated doesn't mean much in the way of when labor will begin but is there an average amount the women are usually dialated to at 36 weeks?

How much were you dialated at 36 weeks?

Also my doctor starts checking women at 36 weeks. Is that to early?

  • No, most doctors start checking at 36-37 weeks. At 37 wks I was dilated to a 1 or 2, and was 75% effaced.

  • i didnt get checked till 37 1/2 weeks, and i was not dilated at all. =( that was last wednesday. lol. we'll see if something changes this week! I heard that some drs dont check at all, and i suppose the ones that do just have a policy on when they usually start checking.. i wouldnt say that it is too early.

  • With my son i was dialated 2 at 36 weeks and stayed that way until i delivered him at 40 weeks. With my daughter i was only 1cm at 36 weeks and dialated 1 every week until i had her at 40 weeks.

  • I'm due today and as of last wednesday i was not dialated. my midwife told me that she has seen women dialated 2cm at 34 weeks and still wouldn't give birth until 40 weeks or more. so, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll go into labor earlier...some women don't dialate until they're in actual labor.
