Car with 200k mileage...

My brother wants to trade cars with me, but his Chevrolet malibu sedan has 200k mileage on it. I like the car, but my boyfriend is really against me doing it. What do you think?

  • I wouldn't do it with a Malibu. I *have* driven a Mitsubishi Diamante to 265,000 miles plus (original engine, no rebuild). A Mercedes can take many hundreds of thousands of miles on its original engine, too.

  • No no no no! That is entirely tooo many miles and unless your car is a POS you'll get the short end of the stick. That is wayy high.

  • Yeah that crazy!! Especially if it a malibu. I'm sorry but american aren't built like imports.

  • I would say no. There are a lot of high mileage american models out there, but they do require more maintenance to get there that their imported counterparts.
