would they taste the same?

i was going to make french fries tonight to go with the shrimp we are having. normally i use Idaho potatoes but all i have is the little red potatoes. if i sliced them up and fried them, do you think they would taste the same as Idaho potatoes?

  • I dont think so but I might be wrong maybe cut them up and bake with with evoo and rosemary or parsley flakes or real butter if you dont have evoo

  • the texture would be a little different. red potatoes are creamier but it should turn out fine

  • It should be fine, but honestly red potatoes are much better oven roasted. Just cut them into 1" chunks, toss them with olive oil and italian seasoning and bake for about 45 minutes at 400 til the potatoes are browned on the outside and done in the middle.

  • It would be different but not by much. I love them boiled with butter salt and parsley flakes. Or the roasted with seasoning is awesome too.

  • I have a great recipe for red potatoes! Cut them up in to chunks lay them out on a cookie sheet or any flat baking dish, cut up some red onions, toss those in, add some chopped garlic, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. Toss it all together , bake at 350 for about 35 to 40 minutes! They are soooooooo delicious!!!
