Was Jesus really sinless?

This sounds like a really tall order for any one to do from birth, especially through the toddler and teens years till death. Or did he repent all his sins along the way which made him sinless? Jesus has always been an interesting character to me, I wish there was more written about him.

  • Yes. Jesus was sinless. He wasn't just some good teacher, or a prophet. He was God in the flesh, who was tempted to sin in all the ways we are, but without sin. He never gave into those temptations. He was perfect.

He had to be in order to be a holy sacrifice. In the Old Testament when you would bring a lamb to the temple as an offering, the priest would inspect the lamb. It had to be without flaw, perfect--in order to be accepted. So in order for Jesus to be an acceptable sacrifice for our sins, He had to never had committed any.

If you would like some verses in the Bible, I would love to share them with you that shows this.

  • Yes, he was sinless and he was tempted beyond bearing. He truly was the example we should look towards.

  • For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all [points] tempted as [we are], [yet] without sin. Hebrews 4:15

  • 2 Corinthians 5:21 (New American Standard Bible)

21He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

  • The concept of sin is a joke but, according to the Christian definition, NO Jesus wasn't "sinless" IMO.

  • He preached that whoever called someone else a fool would be in danger of hellfire, yet he himself did so many times (Matt.23:17, 19 and Luke 11:40 and 12:20 show this). He claims in Matt. 19:7 that NO one is good, save god himself. Isn't he denying be morally perfect? He contradicted his teaching in Matt. 15:4 about honoring your father and mother with his statement in Luke 14:26 that anyone who wanted to follow him had to hate parents, sibling, spouses and children as well as self. He lied about his second coming saying those to whom he spoke would not die before he returned (Matt. 16:28) and they are long dead and we are still waiting. He said that Peter would deny him three times before the cock crow (yet it was only once in Mark:66-68). That he would lie in the grave for three days (Fri. nite to Sun morn. is 1 1/2 days). He came to be a mortal, NOT perfect.
