What can I feed my 7 month old girls who have no teeth?

I have been spoon feeding them purees and cereal but I also have given them puffs and they are doing very well with self feeding. They have mastered the pincher grasp and mash food between their gums as well. I am not very sure what would be an age appropriate meal to give them because they have no teeth. I would prefer to make my own baby food because I have found that some of the pre-packaged foods are just way too expensive.

  • You can feed them anything soft, like eggs, mashed potatoes, vienna sausages, biscuits, bananas, anything else, you can put in the blender or food processor and feed to them. Good luck!

  • babies don't chew with their teeth...if you can mash it against the roof of your mouth with you tongue, they can gum it.

  • You can try chunky purees. I liked mashed up bananas. My son didn't get teeth until about 9 months but he mastered gumming. I wouldn't give him carrots or apples of course. So we tried bananas, ground up hamburger, sweet potatoes that are mushed chunks.

  • bananas, cooked apples or pears, sweet potato and avocado were all things I did when I fed my DD. I made my own baby food as well! There is a great website called www.weelicious.com for baby food/toddler recipes and the group 'Homemade Baby Food' really helped me out!

  • My daughter is 7 months old also. I feed her almost everything. I put a lot of stuff in the chopper like spaghetti, cooked veggies & fruits or whatever we are eating. I don't puree things, I just give them a whirl to manageable size pieces. It is recommended that you give no egg whites until age 1 & just be careful of the baby meat sticks. They can cause choking.

NO YOU CANT...eggs are a huge allergy risk...try avocado, bananas, steamed zucchini, cooked beans, and baked apples and pears.
