  • No, please don't give water so isn't needed and could be dangerous.

  • babies get all the water they need in formula. If they drink water, they will be too full to drink a bottle or breastfeed so will not gain weight, actually lose weight and thats not good. Docs do NOT recommend water and if its thrush he needs medical attn. It can get really painful.

  • No. It won't prevent his getting thrush and he doesn't need it. He gets all the water he needs from his milk or formula.

Thrush is simply an overgrowth of yeast. Everyone has yeast (a fungus) all over their skin. You, me, everyone. Every once in a while, it will dig in and grow. In us, that tends to mean a vaginal yeast infection, sometimes an infection on the breasts for brestfeeding moms.. In babies, that means a wicked diaper rash or a rash in the mouth.

  • Babies get the liquids they need from formula or milk. No extra liquids until probably 6-8 months but your doctor would be helpful there.

  • No. Water is unnecessary and won't prevent thrush.

  • they can get it either way and no do not give him water. It is just going to fill him up with no nutrient. Give him formula or breast milk only until 6 months! good luck.

  • Please do not give water. Google infant water intoxication. Babies have such a low body mass that they don't absorb it and it can be dangerous.
