How can a mother on food stamp afford Chanel No.5?

If you need food stamp; why do you spend 45.00 on a perfume?

  • I'm not on food stamps and still can't afford Chanel. Maybe I should apply.

  • Maybe it was a gift or Maybe they got it before they needed food stamps. Or maybe they only count taxable income (I don't know) and they have tons of nontaxable income.

  • Priorities?! How are the children fed, dressed, live?! I'm thinking "mom" is being a wee bit selfish...or she bought an imitation version off Ebay! LOL :o)

  • Is that seriously all Chanel No 5 costs? $45 doesn't seem like much for that. I have cheaper perfumes that were that much and more...

  • Who...cares? Is she affecting you personally? Maybe she saved up for it. She has a right to spend money on useless shit if she wants to. It's her funeral.

  • yes it does concern me. It is taxes that goes toward FS. Let her pay for her food if she can afford to pay for Chanel no.5

  • Who knows. If I couldn't afford to buy food for my family I certainly wouldn't be out buying myself $45 perfume. Hell, don't even spend that much on perfume now! But oh well. There are people on food stamps who spend their money on MUCH WORSE...drugs, alcohol, etc. There's nothing anything will ever do about it, so I guess we all have to live our lives wondering why people do ignorant things.

  • My taxes paid for her perfume. Maybe I could afford expensive perfume if my taxes weren't so high.
