What would Jesus do?

Ok, let's just say that Jesus survived the crucifixtion. Now, let's say he moved somewhere else. Would he have told them he was Jesus? Or do you think he would have changed his name so he wouldn't have to live under the shadow of that fame?

  • Anon, I meant that he didn't die at all. Suppose that he was actually only unconcious (loss of blood has a habit of doing that) when they took him off the cross and he was nursed back to health while he was in the tomb.

  • So you think He lied to everyone and bailed out. And then just allowed all the disciples to tell everyone that He rose from the dead. They had to believe that, or esle they wouldn't have died for Him.

I just don't see why He would do this? He didn't come here to start a celestial family on earth. He came to die.

  • I think he would've moved somewhere, started a family and done some fishing...LOL....I don't think he would've told people he was Jesus, because, well, looked what happened to him.

And technically speaking cinnamon-mom, if your heat stops beating then you qualify as 'dead'. So, if he had any period lacking a heartbeat, then he would've been dead and then 'rose' from the grave. Or maybe even he didn't know he wasn't really dead (only unconsious) and so he saw nothing wrong with letting the disciples tell thier stories.

And why not bail? You try and lead these people to god and you get crucified (LOL...literally!!)

Maybe he just got tired of being perfect all the time...maybe he just wanted to go somewhere and "get lost" in the crowds and be a normal person for the rest of his life. He did his "job" of telling people about god, so now he gets to retire..LOL

    Good question spiritguide...LOL

  • He didn't survive being crucified. It was in God's plan for Him to die. Had He of lived, it wouldn't have been in God's will, and He would have not accomplished what He was specifically sent to Earth for, to save us,unworthy though we are, from ourselves. He had to die, to accomplish that. Why do you think, just before He died He said "It is finished?" He meant He'd done what He was sent to do,and now to could return to Heaven,to be with God,as He had been before.

  • Ok, this is strictly a HYPOTHECTICAL question. Did I once say he DID survive? No I am what if he survived. Is it sooooo hard to think outside the box? Or do you just not like hypotheticals that deal with religion?

  • He didn't survive being crucified

Why are you answering a hypothetical question if you refuse to acknowledge the hypothetical?
