I am looking for homemade craft recipes for a VBS group. Can anyone help?

I work with several kids groups that need help with some idea we can use for kids 3-16. I know ther are some recipes for differnt craft media and since we have a very low budget we need all the help we can get.

Your help would be appreciated.

  • Have you checked out they have a good selection of inexepensive crafts for kids including a inspirational/VBS theme. Good luck and thanks for spreading your love for Christ. You will most def get more jewels in your crown in heaven LOL

  • Do you have access to an oven (supervised by adults)? If so, check out btw, a little sculpey goes a LONG way, it's not at all like playdoh

Also, try these sites There is a placemat idea. We made prayer placemats and had the kids do thumbprint art

Feel Free to PM if you have any questions.

    Good Luck!

  • I work with developmentaly delayed adults and we have the greatest time with some markers construction paper glitter and foam letters and shapes. We just made picture frames for their rooms out of construction paper popsicle sticks and let the clients go where their hearts desired.

  • That is a huge age range for VBS!! You guys are daring! Ours is preschool to 5th grade. What is your theme for VBS this year? It is so much easier to pick out craft ideas around a central theme. Let me know what it is, and I should be able to help a lot. I have been helping with VBS in my church since I was twelve and was in it since I was 5, so I have lots of ideas and we have done pretty much every theme under the sun!

  • My favorite recipe is for homemade playdough. You can make it diff. colors and the best is to do scented!! Its so fun that even adults love it.

For the older teens there are recipes online for science projects like flarp or something like it. You know, the stuff that you put into a small container and put your fingers into to sound like a fart? Funny, kids of all ages love junk like that too! All of these things are made with items around the kitchen.

I don't have the time to look these up online but you should be able to google these and find TONS of ideas. :)
