Why does everyone say "darling husband"or "darling daughter/son"on here?

  • Sometimes depending on how I am feeling it could mean dick head. I say dear...not darling.

  • Because it is the standard term. Everyone could make up their own but people wouldn't know what the hell they were talking about. If people just typed h...people would think it was a typo. I don't see what the problem is, you don't have to use the term if you don't like it. Feel free to type it all out everytime.

  • According to Webster: DARLING - person very dear to another; person much loved. DEAR - much loved; precious; much valued; highly esteemed. That about sums up MY family members (well, most of the time).
