  • Do you have a former employer you could work for remotely? If you have a computer with high speed internet & Microsoft Office Pro & have at least intermediate MS Office skills, you should be able to find work as a virtual assistant (VA). There is a company located outside of Chicago that matches up VAs & clients called VSI; the url is The owner is Tracey Wallace.
Do you have a skill or experience that you can turn into a home based business? I have a friend who makes children's hair accessories in her basement & sells them to boutiques around the Midwest. I work out of my home with two lines of business; I do freelance bookkeeping & business organization; I also do career & job search coaching. I am always happy to help cafemoms with resumes, cover letters, job search strategy & interview preparation. Feel free to contact me directly -Robin

  • the best thing that you can do for yourself is to ask yourself what do I NOT want to do. For me I was an RN who couldn't sell ice to an eskimo....not a sales bone in my body. I wanted to find a company that I could be proud to be apart of where no one would get hurt, and that I could help as many people as possible who were in the same situation as me...small kids at home with health conditions and who didn't want to put their kids in daycare, but needed to bring home an income. I finally found WAHU and I love helping moms stay home and work around their kids schedules. Check it out for yourself and see if it would be a perfect fit for you too!

Not only does GC sell scented candles, but two other lines. All natural green cleaning line called Homeology ( ) and a body care line called Emerge.
