Undiagnosed autism/aspergers

My S/O has a coworker who was been diagnosed with ADHD as a young child and is medicated for it. However, when he was describing his coworker it sounded to me like maybe he has autism. Could a person be an adult and never be diagnosed with autism?

  • Yep, if he is on the high funtioning end. And because if he is older, they didn't diagnose some stuff back in the day.

  • A lot of adults have undiagnosed autism. The only reason some of us have a diagnosis or an unofficial diagnosis is because we had really good psychologists who knew about this 'new' disorder.
